Guest Speaker: Phillip Edmonds
Phillip Edmonds is the author of eight books including three collections of short fiction, a local history, and a history of ‘little’ magazines in Australia, Tilting at Windmills. His most recent is the short story collection ‘The Soapbox’ in 2018. He was editor of Wet ink, the magazine of new writing between 2004 and 2012, and he has taught Australian literature and CW at Griffith and the University of Adelaide after years of unfulfilling jobs, but he always wrote because he enjoyed doing it more than anything else. A new collection Road Kill Cafe is due to be published later this year. He describes himself broadly as a ‘social realist’.
