Smallroom – Friday the 13th Reading Night

SLet’s get dark and demented! The second instalment of Smallroom for 2022 launches on Friday the 13th – we want your ghostly fireside tales, conjured monsters and horror stories in whatever form they take. Feature readers include poet and author Rose Hunter who has published several collections of poetry including Glass with Five Islands Press. Her latest book Body Shell Girl has just been released with Spinifex Press – a memoir in verse of the first two years of a decade she spent in the sex industry in Canada.

She’ll be joined by poet and Griffith PhD candidate Hailey Quiazon who placed 3rd in the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival Women of Words Poetry Slam and 2nd in the annual UWRF Poetry Slam in 2018 and Philip Edmonds author of eight books, the last being the short story collection The Soapbox and soon Road Kill Cafe.

With live music from Gold Coast singer songwriter Casey Duque former frontman of HeadRush and resident DJ at the Playroom this night is not to be missed! Limited open mic sessions available – sign up at the door. $5 entry fee includes dinner and a cash bar will operate.
